What should you do right after your car gets hail damage?
Take photos in daylight, check what your policy covers and do not take the car for a respray or polish before a PDR technician has assessed it.
The first hours matter for two reasons: to record the damage before the car is moved or washed, and to avoid decisions that make the repair more expensive. A paint shop may suggest replacing the roof; before agreeing, ask for a paintless repair assessment.

How do we repair a hail-damaged car?
In four stages: dent map, removal of interior lining, dent-by-dent repair and final check under the lamp.
- Dent map. We mark and count every dent by panel and size. You get photos and a damage sheet the loss adjuster can also use.
- Removal. We drop the roof lining and, if needed, the lights or bonnet insulation to reach from inside.
- Repair. We work with rods from inside and glue pulling on the roof rails, where there is no access. Small dents take minutes; large ones much longer.
- Final check. We inspect every panel under the lamp, refit everything and hand the car back with before and after photos.

Paintless hail repair vs. roof replacement: which makes sense?
Quick answer: if the paint is intact, paintless hail repair is faster, keeps the car's original structure and avoids cutting and welding in a new roof.

How is hail repair coordinated with your insurer?
We give you the dent map and photos for the claim, meet the loss adjuster if needed and repair once the insurer approves.
The process varies by company, but usually you open the claim, the loss adjuster assesses the car in person or from our photos, and the insurer authorises the repair. We adapt the quote to the format the adjuster asks for.

How many days does a hail repair take?
Between 1 and 5 working days depending on the number and size of the dents. A car with 30 or 40 small dents is usually done in a day; one with more than 150 across roof, bonnet and tailgate takes four or five.
Does the roof need replacing if there is a lot of hail damage?
Hardly ever. It is only considered for very large dents with broken paint or badly stretched metal.
Will my insurance pay for hail repair?
It depends on your policy: fully comprehensive policies and those including weather events usually cover it. Spain's Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros does not cover hail. Our hail insurance page explains it.
Can I keep using the car until it is repaired?
Yes. Hail does not affect the car's safety unless it has broken glass or lights. Just avoid taking it for a respray or a polish before we assess it.
How are the dents counted?
Panel by panel under the lamp, marking each dent with a washable pen and grading it by size. That gives us the dent map and the quote.
Do you repair hail damage at my address?
Cars with a few dents, yes. Cars with many are repaired at the Alcobendas workshop, because they take several days, controlled lighting and easy access to the roof.
