Aluminium, dark metallics and matte: why not repainting matters here
In an area with so many high-end cars, repainting a panel is expensive and the colour difference shows; pushing the dent out from behind keeps the factory paint.
Many recent BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche or Tesla models have an aluminium bonnet, wings or tailgate. Aluminium behaves differently from steel: it is stiffer, has less memory of its original shape and needs more heat and more short passes with the rod. Dark metallic colours and matte finishes are similar: a repainted panel almost never reflects like the ones next to it. Keeping the original also counts when you sell the car.
