How long does it take to fix a parking dent?
Between 45 and 90 minutes in most cases; the smallest, coin-sized ones can be done in half an hour. They are normally finished in a single visit.
Time depends mostly on access. In the middle of a rear door we usually go in through the window slot or by removing the trim. Low on a rear wing or next to the hinge, access is harder and it takes longer.

Which kinds of car-park damage do we repair?
We repair door dings, supermarket trolley dents, car-park pillar knocks and small manoeuvring dents, as long as the paint is not broken.
- Door dings. The typical dent on the side, level with the edge of the next car's door. They often have a small crease and sometimes paint transfer.
- Shopping trolleys. Soft, wide dents low on the doors or on the rear wings.
- Pillars and bollards. Longer dents from manoeuvring, often on the rear wings and wheel arches.
- Balls and small impacts. Round dents on the bonnet, roof or tailgate.

Quick answer: for a parking dent it usually makes sense to pay the PDR technician directly: it is quick, normally costs less than the excess and does not affect your record with the insurer.

How do you take a good photo of a parking dent?
Take it in daylight, at an angle, with a straight reflection, such as a building edge or a strip light, running across the dent.
- Park the car in the shade or in a garage with even light.
- Take a photo from a distance showing the whole door or panel.
- Crouch down and photograph the dent at an angle so a straight reflection crosses it.
- If you can, put a coin next to it so we can see the size.
